Our residential program offers a nurturing and structured environment where students can live, learn and grow. We provide opportunities for personal development, social interaction and academic success, guided by the principles of Lakota culture and values.

Residential Life Mission Statement

We strive to promote a clean, safe and caring environment for students. Our Residential Life setting supports students in developing essential life skills, social abilities and academic growth. We are committed to providing the care, attention, resources and activities that foster human development.

"Wakanyeja wica yu oni han pi hecel iglu oni han pi kte."
Honor the children, so that they will honor themselves.

Lakota Values in Residential Life

The Residential Life program is rooted in the Seven Values of Lakota Life. Students are expected to embody these values in their actions, attitudes and appearance as members of our school community:

  • Woc’ekiya (Spirituality)
  • Wa o’hola (Respect)
  • Wa on’sila (Caring and Compassion)
  • Wowicake (Honesty and Truth)
  • Wawokiye (Generosity and Helping)
  • Wah’wala (Humility)
  • Wok sape (Wisdom)

Through these values, we foster an environment of mutual respect and personal growth.
