At Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School, students are encouraged to participate in activities that foster growth, meaningful connections, and discovering new interests. These activities are designed to be engaging, inclusive and developmentally appropriate across all grade levels.

After-School Activities (K–12)

Our after-school programs give students a safe, structured environment to continue learning, receive academic support, and explore cultural and creative interests. Programs vary by grade level:

  • Primary School (Grades K–2):
    Students participate in academics, enrichment and cultural activities.
    Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
  • Upper Elementary School (Grades 3–6):
    Supported by federal grants, the program includes tutoring and enrichment.
    Schedule: Tuesday through Thursday
  • Junior High School (Grades 7–8):
    After-school tutoring is available and supported by grant funding. Some teachers offer academic support for any student who chooses to stay.
    Schedule: Tuesday through Thursday, 3:45 - 5:30 p.m.
  • High School (Grades 9–12):
    Students can attend Lakota Cultural programming and academic tutoring.
    Lakota Cultural Program: Tuesday through Thursday, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
    Tutoring: Tuesday through Thursday, 3:45 – 5:15 p.m.

Saturday School (Grades K–6)

Saturday School offers additional support in reading, math, science, and themed seasonal activities. A light lunch is provided.

  • Schedule: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Location: Drop-off at designated school entrances
  • Focus: Enrichment, academic support and hands-on projects

Student Clubs and Creative Opportunities

Students can participate in various clubs and cultural activities. These opportunities help students build friendships and express creativity outside of the classroom:

  • Art and sewing clubs
  • Dance groups
  • Archery and Lakota Handgames

School Spirit & Incentives

We promote pride and positive behavior through fun and inclusive programs:

  • Braves Bucks Program: Students earn Braves Bucks by demonstrating school spirit, responsibility and positive behavior. Bucks can be redeemed at the Braves Store.
  • Spirit Days: Celebrate teamwork, pride and student leadership.
  • Attendance Incentives: Students who meet attendance goals may receive gym time, participate in special events and earn activity passes.
